| Onset's
Data Logging Rain Gauge (RG3 and RG3-M, metric version) are
fully self-contained, battery-powered rainfall data collection
and recording systems. They include a HOBO
Event data logger integrated into a tipping-bucket rain
gauge. The RG3 automatically records up to 80" (160 cm
for the RG3-M) of rainfall data that can be used to determine
rainfall rates, times and duration. A time and date stamp is
stored for each 0.01" (0.2 mm for the RG3-M) tip event
for detailed analysis.

The RG3 and RG3-M Data Logging Rain Gauges are constructed from
field proven, corrosion-resistant mechanical components.

Weather Data Logger System
For projects that must evaluate
changes in temperature, relative humidity and rainfall over a large
region, but within a limited budget, Onset data loggers and
accessories can be easily configured into a cost-effective,
micro-climate weather logger system.
There are a wide range of
applications for this type of system in agriculture, civil
engineering and environmental monitoring.
The complete system consists of
Onset's Data Logging Rain Gauge, HOBO
Pro Temp/RH data logger, Solar
Radiation Shield, HOBO
Shuttle and BoxCar
software. A stable mounting location, post, or tripod is
required for easy field installation (mounting hardware included
with products). Once installed, the loggers are managed as a system
using the HOBO Shuttle for field data acquisition and transport, and
BoxCar software for logger and shuttle set-up, and post-acquisition
data readout and analysis.
When installed and managed
together, these products become a rugged, inexpensive micro-climate
